What’s this latest hot spot in the Library that seems to attract students like bees to honey? It’s the Board Games Zone in the Lien Ying Chow Lifestyle Library.
The wide-ranging games, all recommended by NP students include those which enable students to hone their financial planning, entrepreneurial and strategy skills, improve their vocabulary or just indulge in good fun. The student manned facility has over 80 board games. Favourites range from Monopoly, Risk, Cashflow, Taboo, Uno, Blokus, Sudoku to even cast puzzles!
The facility is intended to expand students’ creativity, improve their problem solving and decision making skills, stimulate intellectual growth, sharpen students’ minds, promote interaction like bargaining and trading with each other, develop their entrepreneurial spirit and open up opportunities for social networking and interaction. It also helps students to relieve stress as they immerse themselves in the games.
Monopoly competition are also organised to create opportunities for students to put their wits and skills to the challenge for even greater thrill.
